Welcome New Member
GAMB members are an important part of a nonstop, nonprofit group that exists to support the mortgage industry. Whether your focus is on fraternizing with others in your profession, establishing a business network, or fighting for a cause to further the interests of your industry, we hope youll join us in our endeavors.
Our Members Serve on Committees
- Committee work provides easy exposure to members and opens the door to beneficial relationships a few people at a time. Its a way for our members to pursue their own personal interests while helping GAMB progress along an upward path. Each committee has many jobs that need to be completed, from small to large. A committee members participation is limited only by the amount of time he or she is ready to give. A committee sign up sheet is attached. Please feel free to fill it out and send it in with your completed membership application.
Our Members Attend Hot! Lunches & Special Events
- Speakers and seminars enhance our members knowledge of the industry and prepare members to meet career challenges. Fundraisers, such as the Legislative Committees Casino Night, lend financial strength to worthy causes and give our members more opportunities to meet and network with people who share their profession.
Our Members Are the Proud Hosts of the SEMBC
Many of our members attend the Southeastern Mortgage
Brokers Conference (SEMBC), one of the country’s
premiere regional meetings for mortgage
professionals. Our 12th Annual SEMBC, “Magnolia
Magic: Southern Style Success”, was held at the Beau
Rivage Resort and Casino in September and was a
great success. A networking mecca, the SEMBC is
renowned for its bustling exhibit hall, an abundance
of high quality programs and keynotes, and the great
camaraderie shared by its guests. Industry education
programs always cover a wide range of topics, such
as Fannie and Freddie, legislative updates, credit
scoring, fraud and ethics, downpayment assistance,
sales training, warehouse lines, legal tips and
more. NAMB Certification Courses are also offered.
The 2005 SEMBC will be held from October 5-8 at the
Beau Rivage Resort and Casino. Materials should be
available in May or June.
Our Members Believe that Right is Might
- By joining GAMB, you align yourself with professionals whose standards are associated with quality. Our members are proud of their adherence to the GAMB Code of Ethics, and we have included the list of rules that guide each of our members in their daily business. Members find that consumers are often more secure in doing business with a company that abides by a code ensuring fairness and honesty. Follow our ethical guidelines, and youll position yourself among the best.
Code of Ethics
- HONESTY & INTEGRITY
GAMB Members shall conduct business in a manner reflecting honesty, honor and integrity.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
GAMB Members shall conduct their business activities in a professional manner.
HONESTY IN ADVERTISING
GAMB Members shall endeavor to be accurate in all advertisements and solicitations.
CONFIDENTIALITY
GAMB Members shall avoid unauthorized disclosure of confidential information.
COMPLIANCE WITH LAW
GAMB Members shall conduct their business in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
DISCLOSURE OF FINANCIAL INTEREST
GAMB Members shall disclose any equity or financial interest they may have in the collateral being offered to secure a loan.
Our Members Fight for Their Rights
- GAMBs lobbyist and Legislative Committee, along with GMBPAC (a political action committee that operates separately in the interest of the mortgage industry and is supported by many of our members), enable GAMB Members to have a strong voice in legislation that affects the way we do business. Among other things, these groups are currently focusing their attention on the predatory lending issue and Georgias new Fair Lending Act. They would be pleased to have you join their efforts.
We Keep Our Members In Touch
- GAMB members are kept in touch with current mortgage industry issues through a variety of sources. Information is sent to members by both the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers and our affiliated national organization, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB), through fax and email broadcasts. Information is also provided to members on the web sites of both groups, www.gamb.org and www.namb.org, respectively. Members receive free monthly issues of The Georgia Mortgage Press and NAMBs acclaimed National Mortgage Broker magazine. GAMB members also receive an annual membership roster.
Our Members Get Smart
- The GAMB Education Foundation (GAMBEF) is the sister organization of the Georgia Association of Mortgage Brokers that plans and implements educational programs. GAMBEF provides extensive educational training, including Residential Mortgage Lending School (RML School) and other NAMB professional certification courses, as well as classes required by the Georgia Department of Banking & Finance to obtain a state mortgage license. GAMB members receive discounts on course fees. For class schedules and details, call Frank Torch at 770-751-9820. Since GAMBEF operates separately from GAMB, you must contact them directly for information.
Our Members Are NAMB Members
- When you join GAMB, we present your name to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers to be approved for membership and pay your NAMB dues. NAMB membership gives you access to vast industry information, a voice in Washington, a complimentary subscription to National Mortgage Broker magazine, discounted rates for NAMB courses and meetings, and more.
